As a senior mechanical engineer, Nicholas designs building mechanical systems from project initiation through construction. His responsibilities include building load calculations, equipment selection, coordination, shop drawing review, construction meetings, field inspections and issuing affidavits. He has experience designing mechanical systems and administering construction for restaurants, office buildings, factories, laboratories, stores, homes and residential high-rises up to 45 stories. He has a particular emphasis in designing mechanical systems for new and historic museums, where precise control of humidity, temperature and filtration are crucial.

Nicholas holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Vermont and is completing coursework for his Master of Science Degree in Engineering Management from Northeastern University. He is registered as a mechanical engineer in Vermont, Massachusetts, New York, Michigan, Texas and the District of Columbia. He is also an Accredited Professional in Building Design and Construction based on the United States Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Rating Systems.
